The waters ripple in the cool night breeze
I can feel the wind as it brushes my face
The moon's golden light softly shimmers
As I look over the bow at the waters ahead.
Sometimes I see a light in the distance
Never quite close enough for me to catch
Wakes slowly fading as I try to reach them
Brief encounters with what could have been.
Each day I sail on searching for the promise
A safe place where I can lower my sails
Seeking shelter and solace in her gentle arms
A place for us to nurture our love and passions.
So each night when the moon comes up
I will set draw anchor and unfurl my sails
Traveling on towards the morning sun
Hoping that one day at last our paths will cross.
